Tell someone you love them today!

I am really not sure why, but I have really been missing my mom this week. If you are new to my blog, my mom passed away last June from cancer. I know she is not in pain anymore, and I am so thankful for that! It doesn’t change the fact though that I lost one of my best friends. I miss her terribly! She was my go-to person for advice, to share my life and things going on, and just to have awesome conversations. I miss that so much. She loved people–all ages and walks of life, was so incredibly smart, and didn’t let anything stop her. She was a joy to be around and people just loved her.

I took this photo of her one day before she got really sick, about 2 1/2 years ago. She was “tickled” at something I said, and I loved seeing her laugh! I have posted it before, but it’s my favorite! It’s how I want to remember her.

Life is fleeting and we have no idea what’s in store for us. I realize it is hard to understand if you’ve never experienced anything like this. All I will tell you is don’t let yourself get caught up in trivial stuff. Stay away from all the junk on TV and the internet that isn’t important or clouds your vision of your purpose here. Don’t let yourself get caught up in the narcissism of the times. Take the time to slow down, be with people you love and do something kind for someone, just because!

Take the time out today to tell someone you love them and give them a big hug!

  • Brittany - Wow, you took the words right out of my mouth. I lost my Mom to cancer 2 years ago and I have been missing her terribly lately. I was a guest at Morgan and Nicoles wedding and have been admiring your work ever since you posted their beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing the photo of your Mom. ~ Brittany

  • juliet - Brittany! I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. I understand! I have shed alot of tears lately and even though I know God has a purpose for everything, it doesn’t change that I’m sad.
    Hang in there!!
Thank you so much for responding to this, looking at my blog, and your kind words. 🙂

  • elizabeth - Jules- I have seen this picture many times before but never noticed how much I see you in her sweet eyes!

You are the epitome of the doing good & passing along kindness. I know how proud your mom is, looking upon you. & I know that shooting star was just one of the many times she is going to show you.

I can’t imagine what you go through day to day missing her, but please know I am always here for you. Love you!! xo

  • juliet - elizabeth! i just love you.

  • Gina Calvin - Juliet, thanks for posting this comment and picture. It is a great message to me that the things I stress over are not worth stressing over. People are the most important thing in life, and I need to tell the ones I love how much they mean to me! Speaking of that, I LOVE YOU!!!

  • April - I’m right there with you Juliet! Your post actually makes my stomach turn because I can relate to this so much. This week has been a really hard one for me as well. I miss Richard and everything about him. Yesterday marked two months since the last time that I was able to get a hold of him and it’s a constant battle. You have such a great outlook on this! I love all of your post but thank you so much for this particular post!
