Ashley {Headshots/Modeling Session}

I met my friend Ashley about 3 1/2 years ago. She was getting into hair and makeup for weddings, and I was getting out! She emailed me out of the blue one day and we met up–I loved her immediately! Her portfolio was impressive and I just knew she’d have a knack for the business.

I am of the belief that not just “anyone” can work in the wedding business. Even the most relaxed wedding day can be or turn into a high energy, fast paced, and sometimes high stress day! People who delve into it must LOVE it, love people, and be able to stay calm amidst anything that happens, goes wrong, etc. The best personalities are ones that can go with the flow, keep a relaxed demeanor, be accommodating and friendly–all wrapped up in one.

Ashley is one of those people. She is professional, down to earth and so much fun at the same time! She does beautiful work and is so great to work with.

She recently asked me to do photos for her website and I was pretty excited to do them! I knew we’d have fun and they would be editorial in style, which is what I love most. She “claimed” to be nervous before this shoot, but you can clearly see she is a natural.

Mian & Keenan {Hilton Head Wedding}

ALL the way back to September y’all! I traveled down to hilton head to document one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever met. So down to earth and easy to be with.

Christy Bridal Portraits {Lowndes Grove Plantation}

Sometimes during portrait or engagement sessions I think we all have a tendency to want to go to as many locations as we can! I have learned though, sticking to a few places, (better yet-ONE), you are more focused, more relaxed – photographer and subject(s) included.
Christy, her mom and I had 2 or 3 places in mind. We got to Lowndes Grove though, and were having way too much fun to leave! It was much more low-key and I think we all agreed it was a great day! Christy is stunning and completely had the 20′s vibe. She was totally up for hats and gloves, and rocked out the red lipstick! The one where she is laughing, made me laugh because I knew we were probably joking around about something!
If you are considering doing a session like this, I highly recommend it! (Even if you wait until after the wedding). It’s your chance to be a model for a day.
