Today I get to post something I rarely have time to do! I worked with Emily early on in my photo career to shoot her wedding. I was so excited when she emailed me and told me she was having a baby and wanted me to be a part! I am also glad we were able to plan way in advance, so I could actually do this shoot for her. I personally love doing all types of portrait shoots, but because of the craziness of my schedule, it’s sometimes hard to fit in.
Someone asked me one day, “How do you shoot maternity portraits?” I don’t think I have a “formula” for anything really. I usually just base it around the client’s personality, what they love, places that appeal to them
and go with it! It’s a memory, or time in someone’s life, whether it’s a couples session, wedding, or maternity. I always try as hard as possible to make it personal to them. Otherwise you end up with generic photos, and that’s no
fun for the client OR the artist behind the camera!
So, Emily and her husband Stew are just awesome. I love them. They are such cool people, so easy and fun to be around, and have such a heart for God. I hadn’t seen them in maybe 3 years, so I was so thrilled for our “reunion.”
Thank you guys SO MUCH for putting up with the insane mosquitoes and being so much fun. I love you both!
