Our realtor Sarah sends me emails titled “word for the day.” I love receiving them because it is a short paragraph to read and ponder daily. It reminds me of my maker, and that no matter what is going on with me and my life, He will forgive me, look out for me, send me comfort.
I loved today’s message. I hope this may help you too.
Listen to the news or scan the headlines, and you’ll find plenty of problems to worry about.
But you don’t need to look outside yourself to come face to face with worries, fears, and uncertainties. Personal problems and challenges, troubled relationships, and economic insecurity can cause anyone to lie awake at night and worry. In God’s eyes, a sure antidote to worry is trust.
That’s why He opens His arms and invites you to give Him your worries, those very real problems that keep you tossing and turning at night.
Let God have them!
He’s strong enough to handle any problem you have to give Him.
Then, put your complete trust in Him-in His ways, in His plans, in His wisdom.
In return, He will free you from the weight of fear, anxiety, and worry.
You will possess the peace of mind that comes from trust in Him alone.
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 55:22 (NIV)
